A significant and deeply inspiring moment for Appropriate Technology India (ATI).
Our Secretary, Dr. Rajesh Naithani, had the honour of presenting our newly completed book on Consciousness to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Alison Plaut from the Netherlands.
During this meeting, Dr. Rajesh Naithani engaged in a meaningful discussion with the Hon’ble Chief Minister on the future of the education system in Uttarakhand and the ongoing livelihood challenges faced by communities living in the Himalayan region. The conversation reflected a shared vision—strengthening education, empowering youth, and enhancing the quality of life for the mountain people of our state.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister highlighted several impactful initiatives undertaken by the Government of Uttarakhand to improve education infrastructure, skill-building opportunities, digital access, and livelihood security for rural and remote communities. These efforts resonate strongly with ATI’s long-standing commitment to sustainable development in the Himalayas.
Dr. Rajesh Naithani also shared ATI’s extensive work across the region, including:
• Livelihood enhancement for mountain communities through sustainable and climate-resilient practices.
• Education support for children and youth, especially in underserved areas.
• Health initiatives focused on accessibility, awareness, and well-being.
• Natural Resource Management & Climate Resilience programs that protect ecosystems and empower communities to adapt to changing environments.
The exchange reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between civil society and government in building a stronger, more resilient Uttarakhand. Moments like these remind us that when purpose-driven organisations and visionary leadership come together, meaningful change becomes possible.
This meeting not only honoured our work but strengthened our resolve to continue serving the people of Uttarakhand with dedication, integrity, and hope.
