1.Introduction
Appropriate Technology India (AT India), an Indian NGO registered under the Societies Act 1860 has been working in Uttarakhand since 1994 with dual objectives of biodiversity conservation and economic development. These objectives can be achieved only when the local communities secure economic and managerial control over their natural resources and have access to necessary information technical and financial. support. This incentive motivates them to work actively toward the long-term conservation of these resources This premise continues to inform AT India's strategy to assist village communities in Uttarakhand towards conserving their natural resources and biodiversity while developing economic opportunities through enterprise utilizing natural resources (natural resources-based products and NTFP) in an equitable. economically and environmentally sustainable manner.

A. Handloom Machinery
Type: Pit Loom Machine
Quantity: 55 units
Specifications:
Locally built as per Kinnauri practices.
Constructed from high-quality Deodar and/or Blue Pine wood for durability.
Must include all standard features (Khuta, Thorshing, Nakka, Kokroli, Chorkhi, Polshing) as per traditional Kinnauri loom design.

Introduction:
Pit loom is a traditional weaving device widely used in handloom weaving practices. It is constructed using durable and locally available wood varieties, ensuring both strength and longevity. The design incorporates specific dimensions and traditional woodworking technique to maintain its functionality and cultural authenticity.

Natural polish material- 2 coats of polish & local yellow sticky soil is use in polish to make moisture resistant.
Chemical paint is also using for moisture resistance.

Kuta- Made from Apple wood, Resh wood (local wood)
Thorshing – Prepared from Resh wood
Nakka – Made of Resh wood
Kokroli- Use of Sal, Resh wood
Chorkhi- Use of Sal or resh wood
Polshing- Prepared from walnut wood, Rosewood, Eucalyptus, Sal
Dongi- walnut, Rosewood, Sal wood
Beem- Pine wood for strength

3. Eligibility Criteria
Must be a registered supplier/manufacturer of handloom machinery/raw materials.
Proven experience in supplying similar machinery/materials to government or NGO projects.
Ability to deliver quality products as per specified standards, within stipulated timelines.
